Wait a minute.....Something just isn't right!

Have you ever just had one of those days where you wonder....how did I manage to do that? Well, I have many of those days. But this day in particular--I was walking to and around work thinking, geez I am kinda limping a little. It got to the point where it was really bugging me. So I took of my boots and looked at the bottom of my heals because they felt different. And that is when I discovered.........

I HAD TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BOOTS ON AND DID NOT EVEN NOTICE THIS UNTIL THE DAY WAS ALMOST OVER!!!!

Parent Teacher Conference

We had our Parent Teacher Conference this week. It went really well. Which, in a way is a report card for the Mom's and Dad's. This way we can find out if we have been doing what we need to be doing at home with the kids. I must admit, I was a little nervous about the boys. Amy, she is no sweat. Here is just a little update on how it went.

First of all, before I get to Colby, I had a little funny story. Colby has been talking all week about something they are doing in school with his class and he really wanted Denny to come join. I asked what it was....he told me their class is having an "Inauguration". So I thought to myself--I knew that his class was really getting into the politics this year, but an Inauguration? So, Colby told me that we would be talking about it more at Parent Teacher Conference. SO as we went to see his teacher she informed me that the "Boys" are getting together next week for their little "Maturation" talk. LOL Colby really misunderstood that one!

Colby's Teacher Said: 5th grade. She really loves Colby and he is such a big helper. The other kids mom's actually want to know what Colby is having for lunch becomes many of the kids are asking to have a home lunch like Colby..(that is another story in its self) Colby is doing great in school. He has good grades and he is Mr. Popular. He has a big heart. And they did an art project using their feet....Colby's is the biggest!! He is actually on a 6th grade level on all subjects in class.
Mason's Teacher Said: 2nd grade. He is also doing good. His reading has improved allot. He actually showed me how they are learning power point (IN SECOND GRADE) He put together a power point about him. It was really cute, we were going through it when a picture of the Jazz Dancers pops up as some of his interests! The teacher started laughing and said that she allowed only one photo, he wanted more! But him and a group of boys have been talking allot about the Jazz team and the dancers (Oy Vay). She said that the group of friends he is hanging with now are known to not follow the rules so Mason did get in trouble the other day. But he is doing better (when I talked to him about this he said "But MOM! I did not have my CTR ring on that day. So I didn't remember to make the right choice")
Amy's Teacher Said: 6th grade. He says Amy is ready for Jr. High. But am I? I do not think I am ready for Amy to go to Jr. High. He really enjoys having her in his class and says she is really smart. And he said "Amy, when you become President of the United States--and she will--I would like to collect my 10%!" LOL. He was really nice and just could not stop saying how proud he is of her. He kept calling me her mom, and saying "Mom, you should be proud" I AM very proud of her.

Amy had a Greek Day the other day at school and without even asking for help (except she said she needed a tiara from the store) she came out ready for school in this dress she made out of a sheet laying around the house. It was so cute. I was like -Girl, we need to take your picture!

I feel like I have some of the best kids in the whole world. I love each of them so much. I am super proud of them. Good Job kids!

Valentines Weekend!

We had an awesome Valentine's Weekend! Denny kidnapped me at work with flowers and we headed out of town (Wendover....shhhh) friday night, the night before Valentines. We ended up going down their for the night. We went down there with my Mom, Steve, my Dad, Sandy, my Aunt Kristi, Lindsay, Jason, Denny's sister Carolyn and her husband Kim, Curtis, and his girlfriend Z. Almost my whole family was down there. Dad and Sandy got us a room with the jacuzzi tub. Sandy actually decorated our room really cute for Valentines day. AND she made chocolate covered strawberries and marshmallows. We really did not play much down there. Denny got us tickets with his sister for Valentines to John Michael Montgomery concert. I really like his new song "Forever". It was fun spending time with my Valentine.. We had a great time. It was 12 years ago on Valentines day that Denny proposed. I love him so much. Who would imagine back then, when he proposed to me and I was 17!! that we would be here where we are today. He is my Valentine, my Prince Charming, my Everything. I love you Denny!

Every year on Valentines day we have a candle light dinner with our kids. They love it and look forward to it every year. So, after we got home from our trip we started our dinner. Linda (Denny's mom) watched the kids while we were away so we told her we would make her a Valentines dinner. She was really excited and kept saying she was glad she stayed another night. It was a very yummy dinner. And as I looked around the table at all of my valentines, it filled up my heart. I love my hubby and kids so much. And my mother-in law is such a big help with the kids. Thank you Linda.
This is what it was like for our dinner. Ryanne was so confused why we were eating in the dark. We actually had allot of candles, more than shown in this photo. The kids decorated and set the table. They sprinkled candy hearts all over and set up all the candles.

Then the next day we had our Sunday dinner at my Dad's house. They had a "Sweethearts Dinner" too. It was really good also. We played Pictionary. Boys against girls--and the Girls Ruled!! We rock at this game. We had to do love story movie titles. It was really fun!

This is Colby with his turn to draw.....the movie was "Never Been Kissed"! He did a really good job..LOL. We laughed and laughed that night.

Here is my Girls Team! Lindsay, Alyssa, Amy, Sandy, and Ryanne (we can not keep clothes on her, she is always taking them off)

AMY TURNS 12!!

Happy Birthday to Amy! She is now 12, she is growing up into a beautiful young woman. I am so proud of her and the girl that she has become. It seems like yesterday she was just getting baptized and now she is going into young womens. She is seriously the smartest girl I know. She is our own little genius. She has one of the biggest hearts. She is amazing, and I learn so much from her. She makes friends so easily. I love her so much and am Thankful to have her in our home, as part of our family. She it the greatest. Happy Birthday Amy, I hope you had a wonderful birthday! Love ya!

For her birthday we had a movie night slumber party! We went and saw Bride Wars. After that we came home for pizza and cake/ice cream. Then me, Denny, and the boys hibernated in my room and watched movies while the girls took over the house. I tell you, they were quite the hyper, drama, giggly girls. But it was nice seeing Amy having such a good time with her girlfriends.

Here they are playing Dance Dance Revelution

The car that Denny and Colby built......in 24 hours!

Now we have known for awhile that the Pinewood Derby was coming up some time soon, but when we received our reminder call to let is know it was in 24 hours.....oh my! We had not even started to build it yet!! So, we hurried and tried our best so that Colby would at least have a car to race.

Colby and his awesome car!

Ryanne just loves her brother. Always tries to fit in with the Boy Scouts.

It would be really fun to tell you that we ended up taking first place.....but then I would be lying. We did not win, (we are the car on the far left).....Lets just say we did not come in very last either.

They do make a great team!

At this point Denny is trying to figure out what to do with the weights to make it go faster and Colby is saying "This is the best we could do IN 24 HOURS!" So, they are already preparing for next years race.
